Happy Monday! Just a reminder that we'll have minimum days all this week for parent teacher conferences. Students are released at 1:00 all week. Please plan for extra time during pick up, as there are extra cars picking up on minimum days, and please remain in your car when along the curb. If you need to exit your car to assist your student, please plan to use a parking space. This ensures that our students and families remain safe and our pick up runs smoothly. On behalf of Coyote Valley and the Coyote Valley Library, we'd like to say thank you to Suellen Witham and Westside Spreading LLC for all the amazing books that they donated to us. We are very excited! These books are a great addition to the Coyote Valley Elementary School library and add to the popular series that the students love to read. Thank you again we truly appreciate the support and the efforts to encourage our students in their love of reading.

Dear Parents, Dr. Scott Mahoney, the consultant we have hired to help us find our permanent superintendent, is having a meeting for parents interested in learning about the search. He will also be asking parents who attend to provide input about what is desired to see in the permanent superintendent as far as his/her qualifications (what you'd see on a resume) and their personal attributes (personality). The meeting is this next Monday, January 22nd, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm in the Minnie Cannon Library . Join us this Thursday for a special New Years celebration at Coyote Valley. It is free to all CVE families! With a special performance by the Middletown High School's Ballet Follklorico students. We'll have activities, treats, music, and more! The fun starts at 5:00 PM with the performance at 5:30. Good morning CVE families, We have been seeing an increase in tardies, especially during rainy days since less students ride the bus. Today, nearly 10% of our students were late to class. We see a daily increase in cars between 8:15 and 8:30 which can lead to longer wait times and tardies in the morning. I want to encourage you to plan to arrive before 8:15, so that students arrive to class on time. Students who are tardy do not receive their full education and can fall behind. Students who are 10 minutes tardy each day will lose almost an hour of education per week. Students entering the class late also causes a disruption to the learning of others. We have also noticed an increase in cars stopping in the drop off line outside of the kindergarten building without pulling all the way forward on the curb. This causes backups with traffic and slows down our drop off line. Please pull all the way forward during drop off to ensure the maximum amount of students can be dropped off at any given time. We always have a member of the staff out front who is able to assist any of our kinder and TK students to the kinder playground. If you do not feel comfortable dropping your student off on the curb and having them walk to class, please park in the parking lot and walk them to class. Thank you all for your help with this, and ensuring our students get to class safely and on time. Have a great week!
