Introduction to the New School Year By Mr. Coit

Introduction to CVE.webm

Mr. Coit- Mini Bio

I am a Middletown High School Alumni and attended Coyote Valley starting in the second grade. My mom was the librarian here, and because of her, I have always had a passion for reading. I used that passion to get a degree in English Education and as a teacher I relentlessly advocated for student literature for our schools, and was amazed at the generosity of the community to support student literacy. I was the 7th grade language arts teacher at Middletown Middle School and the Dean of Students and Athletic Director at Middletown High School.

I am a wrestling coach, and if given the opportunity will talk about wrestling until I'm blue in the face. I am also a huge fan of Star Wars, Harry Potter, Marvel...well basically anything nerdy and awesome.

As an educator, I believe in student centered learning that promotes student voice. I am passionate about literacy and fostering the love of reading. I believe that connecting with students personally is vital to their, and my, success, and I believe that everyone is important and deserves to be treated as such.

I am passionate, positive, and competitive, and I will gladly challenge any student to a AR points throwdown! Only a few beat me at MMS! I am excited to be here at CVE, and I look forward to meeting you all.
