Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

In recognition of Dr. Seuss' birthday and as a kick off to Read Across America, Coyote Valley will be serving green eggs and ham in the cafeteria on Friday, March 2nd!  Mr. Hoskins is also scheduling time to read the Sneetches to lower grade classrooms, which compliments our anti-bully program by teaching tolerance and acceptance for all.

This year we do not have a family reading night planned, but encourage parents to get involved in a number of ways.  Suggestions include; go see the NEW Lorax movie that is scheduled to be released on March 2nd, visit the Dr. Seuss website (link available on our webpage) or go to www.seussville.com, or one of the simplest and best ways is to take time to read a good book with your child (and take the AR quiz afterwards).

If you are interested in making your own green eggs and ham at home, here is a tip from our cafeteria - use spinach juice, instead of colored dye, to make your eggs green.  It is healthier and once cooked - does not alter the taste.

We hope you will find some way to make a connection with your child and encourage that reading can be fun!
