Fun Had at the Bridge Building Demonstration

Recently 27 students at CVE participated in a Saturday workshop to build bridges out of popsicle sticks and elmer's glue.  The finished products were tested at a school assembly on Friday, Feb. 17th to test what type of load they could hold.  Some of the bridges held up to 17 student dictionaries!  The audience seemed to enjoy putting the bridges to the test and it was great to see kids (and parents) get involved in a fun, hands-on learning activity.  In addition to testing the bridges, Mr. Hoskins also prepared a powerpoint of "Amazing Bridges Around the World" that shared various bridges and designs from New York to Japan including Beam, Arch, Suspension and Cantilever Span types.
